Sneakers are nothing new – they’re the main ingredient of surf-skate fashion… but more formal fashion-circles are now starting to take stock.

I’m pretty sure this re-evaluation started with Céline and their much-loved slip-on sneakers (a fairly safe bet, seeing as all the best things seem to start here).

Cool girls then took this fun, sporty-lead one step further, wearing sneakers where before you’d have seen heels (i.e teaming them with your yoga pants doesn’t count).

New Balance and Nike are the sentimental favourites. But it doesn’t stop there – so popular is this trend, you can now also find sneakers at Balenciaga, Chanel, Prada, Lanvin, Saint Laurent, Givenchy and Balmain.
