Nicola Reindorf

Nicola Reindorf makes fashion fun.

Her energy, passion and knowledge about designers and trends is both exhaustive and inspiring.

She and her husband Orlando own Flying Standard – a fashion wholesale agency that distributes both diverse and much coveted international labels within Australia.

In addition to this though, they also own the Surry Hills (and soon to be Fitzroy) institution The Standard Store – a veritable haven for fashionable folk who value Nicola and Orlando’s unique interpretation of style.

5 words to describe my style are
 eclectic Euro meets the Antipodes.

My go-to outfit is
baggy old jeans cut into shorts dressed up with a pretty silk blouse and sandals

On the top of my wish list is
Nike Liquid Silver Air Maxs and a Chanel swimsuit

The best (fashion) lesson I’ve learnt is
wear your clothes don’t let your clothes wear you. If you’re not comfortable, you won’t feel stylish.

My most recent fashion purchase is
I have a shop full of recent purchases! All my purchases are done on my buying trips 6 months in advance.

I keep buying more
. Agent Provocateur underwear, if the first thing you put on is beautiful then the rest will follow

I need more
shoes obviously! A girl never has enough shoes!

I wish I’d never bought
a pair of Nicholas Kirkwood heels, they looked amazing but are way too high. I wore them once and spent the whole evening sitting down which was very boring.

If I could keep only 3 things in my wardrobe, they would be

1. My Blumarine beaded dress bought by my husband on a stag do in Vegas – an apology frock! It’s totally impractical but whenever I’ve worn it ( 3 times ) I’ve had a fantastic time!
2. My crisp white Studio Nicholson dress shirt – it goes with everything.
3. My Mackintosh snake skin print raincoat – when function and fashion collide!

My favourite labels are
Humanoid for luxury basics, A DĂ©tacher for individual pieces and CĂ©line to drool over.

I always feel happy when I wear
 cashmere.

Any outfit looks better with
 the right attitude.

1. L’Agent by Agent Provocateur ‘Leonara’ stretch balconette bra, £50
2. L’Agent by Agent Provocateur ‘Leonara’ stretch briefs, £28
3. Venessa Arizaga ‘Malibu’ necklace, $365
4. Celine sunglasses, $307
5. Found My Animal leash, $50
6. Mackintosh ‘Balone’ coat, $1500
7. B Brian Atwood ‘Licata’ star sandals, $420.76
8. JĂ©rĂŽme Dreyfuss ‘Momo’ crossbody bag, $821.20
