Nicola Reindorf makes fashion fun.
Her energy, passion and knowledge about designers and trends is both exhaustive and inspiring.
She and her husband Orlando own Flying Standard – a fashion wholesale agency that distributes both diverse and much coveted international labels within Australia.
In addition to this though, they also own the Surry Hills (and soon to be Fitzroy) institution The Standard Store – a veritable haven for fashionable folk who value Nicola and Orlandoâs unique interpretation of style.

5 words to describe my style are⊠eclectic Euro meets the Antipodes.
My go-to outfit is⊠baggy old jeans cut into shorts dressed up with a pretty silk blouse and sandals
On the top of my wish list isâŠNike Liquid Silver Air Maxs and a Chanel swimsuit
The best (fashion) lesson I’ve learnt is⊠wear your clothes donât let your clothes wear you. If you’re not comfortable, you wonât feel stylish.
My most recent fashion purchase is⊠I have a shop full of recent purchases! All my purchases are done on my buying trips 6 months in advance.
I keep buying moreâŠ. Agent Provocateur underwear, if the first thing you put on is beautiful then the rest will follow
I need more⊠shoes obviously! A girl never has enough shoes!
I wish I’d never bought⊠a pair of Nicholas Kirkwood heels, they looked amazing but are way too high. I wore them once and spent the whole evening sitting down which was very boring.
If I could keep only 3 things in my wardrobe, they would beâŠ
1. My Blumarine beaded dress bought by my husband on a stag do in Vegas – an apology frock! It’s totally impractical but whenever I’ve worn it ( 3 times ) I’ve had a fantastic time!
2. My crisp white Studio Nicholson dress shirt – it goes with everything.
3. My Mackintosh snake skin print raincoat – when function and fashion collide!
My favourite labels areâŠÂ Humanoid for luxury basics, A DĂ©tacher for individual pieces and CĂ©line to drool over.
I always feel happy when I wear⊠cashmere.
Any outfit looks better with⊠the right attitude.

Venessa Arizaga necklace - Zakee Shariff 'Love' print. "Zakee is a great friend of mine from London. We used to distribute her fashion label in Australia but then she stopped doing fashion to concentrate on her art. I'm very excited though because she is launching a new collection at the end of the year"
"Our hat stand is weighed down by all my hand bags. My favourites are Bottega Venetta, Jerome Dreyfuss , Miu Miu and Chloe" Aigle + Kitsune gum boots - Found My Animal dog leash

Folk jumper - YMC skirt - Nike Air Max sneakers - Joan Ross artwork. "We bought this at The Sydney Contemporary Art Fair last year. This painting jumped out at me and Orlando. It suits our home - a little bit old fashioned and a lot of colour pop"
Dolce and Gabbana heels. "I'm a sucker for stars. I bought these in London. I donât get the opportunity to wear heels much but when I do I try and wear fabulous ones"
Miu Miu dress. "Cobalt blue is a favourite colour and I just love a star print"
Jerome Dreyfus bags - London Undercover umbrellas. "We sell these in the store. They are as much a fashion accessory as a necessity. If you invest in a good umbrella you wonât lose it"
Mackintosh raincoat
Celine sunglasses - Agent Provocateur bikini. "I live in bikinis in summer, so I try and find ones that are a bit unique and can look good under a summer dress"
Blumarine dress. "This was a guilty gift from my husband after a stag weekend in Las Vegas. I have worn it about 3 times and each time was a memorable night!"
"I wasn't really a dog person until we got Honey, but now I can't imagine life without her. I love going for long walks with her and she gets to come to work with us every day. She's even on all our shop packaging!"
Venessa Arizaga and Lucy Folk Friendship bracelets - Le Labo fragrance "These are the best fragrances. We buy a bottle every time we go on a buying trip - they mix the fragrance in the store and print a personal message on the label, so I collect the bottles as reminders of my travels. I wear Jasmine in summer and Santal in winter"
Utopia Goods quilt cover - Adiev Loafers "We picked up this amazing Parisien shoe brand for the store this season. They are made by a husband and wife team - she worked for Lanvin, he was a Rockabilly bespoke shoemaker and now they're in all the best stores around the world"
