Fun French Fact:
The original breton stripe tee, created in the mid-1800s for the French Navy, came with exactly 21 stripes – each representing one of Napoleon’s victories.

It was Coco Chanel’s 1917 ‘Nautical’ collection however that introduced this utilitarian staple to the fashion world… and the rest is (stylish, stripy) history.
