I’ve loved homewares label, Pony Rider from afar for many years.

Designed and developed in Australia, they manage to so perfectly encapsulate, through collections of cushions, bedding, canvas and wall art, their love of roaming ranges, vintage patterns and all things earthly.

So, armed with my new mission to plunder the address books of clever, talented and charming women, I asked Pony Rider’s creative director and owner, Kelly Searl to tell us her hometown ‘Shortcuts’.

Fashion:
I pop into Splice Boutique in Newport or One Teaspoon in Avalon.

Homewares:
Pony Rider of course!

Books:
Berkelouw Books.

Coffee:
Strictly chai for me and one of the best places for this is 2KF – a little hole in the wall in Mona Vale.

Brunch:
The Boathouse at Palm Beach.

Cocktails:
Margaritas, Bellinis or Moscow mules.

Family Dinners:
At home of course. There’s nothing like a home cooked meal.

Date night:
Oh, I love a little Mexican at Mexicano. Can’t really go past a Jalapeño Margarita!

Groceries:
Thomas Dux for sure. That place makes me fat by just stepping in the joint.

Butcher:
I support my local, Newport butcher. Gary is a legend.

Bottle shop:
Chambers Cellars in Newport.

Take Away:
My son is obsessed with Hong Kong Chinese.

Florist:
Wild Lotus in Newport or Flowerdrum.
