The trench coat has come a long way since its military-led inception, with many variations on the original theme now on offer (be it billowing, cropped or rosie-hued).

But you can’t go past a tan trench for that perfect plus-one that you’ll layer up in winter over jackets, knits and scarves or else slip over your shoulders during the warmer months as an insurance policy against over zealous air-conditioning, puzzling shifts in weather … and because, well they just look really awesome.
