And whilst we’re talking about great new things I’ve discovered, we can add Holiday to the list…
Holiday is a Paris based travel magazine that pays homage to the original midcentury title, last published in 1977 that had a simple premise… ‘Send a writer and photographer to a specific location and ask them to capture their vision of the place without constraints of style, length or budget’. You may indeed recognise a number of their frequent contributors from this time – Ernest Hemingway, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Slim Aarons, John Steinbeck, Jack Kerouac, Truman Capote and Joan Didion to name but a few.
Whilst the new publication’s budgets may have since shifted, the spirit indeed lives on – described by creative director, Franck Durand as “quality and freedom, seasoned with “hédonisme”.
But where’s the fashion? I hear you ask.
So popular is this reincarnation, it’s since grown to also include a shop, which has the most covetable collection of fashion merchandise for Holiday groupies.
