    The Black & White Loafer

    Monday 30th Dec 2013

Whilst sometimes challenging (read: often torturous), I regularly extol the virtues of a heel.

It’s great being a few inches taller – so much so that I’m often known to exclaim “This feels like my natural height” (and with a size 9 foot, maybe it is).

I’m not entirely sure who I’m trying to convince though* because truthfully, I’m much happier in a flat shoe.

So this is the serendipitous thing – all those designers that I love have come on-board this season (and last season… and next season) with a full-fashion endorsement of flat shoes. Yay!

One of my favourites is the black and white loafer. It’s like a little tuxedo for your feet and looks super cute either dressed-down with a sweat top and your boyfriend jeans, or dressed-up with a black cropped pant or tailored skirt,

    Need no more convincing?

    * Ok, ok… it’s me.

    The Jewelled Sandal

    Tuesday 24th Dec 2013

Comfortable is not a word you hear too often in stylish circles.Ā Tailored, yes. Structured, often. But the word comfortable always seems at odds with anything really fabulous.

Let me introduce you to one of my favourite labels – Marni.

Marni is hands-down the master at ā€˜fabulous and comfortable’ (whilst simultaneously specialising in fun and whimsical – hence why I like them so much).

Case in point – theĀ Marni jewelled calf hair sandal, $510

    Mix Master

    Monday 4th Nov 2013

Regular readers of INEZ Daily will know that I fully endorse whimsy – it’s my default style.

One of my favourite ways to achieve this is by layering an eclectic mix of patterns, textures and trims – think animal prints, lace, coloured fur, sequins and spots (but maybe not all at once).

Fashion Editor,Ā Julia Sarr Jamois (pictured) is the master of this.

There’s just a couple of tricks to pulling this off without looking completely mad:

    1. Pick prints that have a common neutral base (like white or cream) and either the same or a complimentary colour palette (think pink & orange or purple & green).

    2. Include a couple of black accents with your trims or accessories to tie it all together

    3. And then, volia! Watch as all these pieces magically transform into one harmonious (albeit quite bold) outfit.
