Whilst sometimes challenging (read: often torturous), I regularly extol the virtues of a heel.
Itās great being a few inches taller – so much so that Iām often known to exclaim “This feels like my natural height” (and with a size 9 foot, maybe it is).
Iām not entirely sure who Iām trying to convince though* because truthfully, Iām much happier in a flat shoe.
So this is the serendipitous thing – all those designers that I love have come on-board this season (and last season⦠and next season) with a full-fashion endorsement of flat shoes. Yay!
One of my favourites is the black and white loafer. Itās like a little tuxedo for your feet and looks super cute either dressed-down with a sweat top and your boyfriend jeans, or dressed-up with a black cropped pant or tailored skirt,
Need no more convincing?

Sequins are such an emotive embellishment – their appearance always makes me feel more festive. They’re like a chic little flash-mob that once gathered together, imparts a sense of sparkly joy.
They were the star of Saint Laurent’s most recent Spring 14 collection, that had aĀ distinct Debbie-Harry-meets-Michelle-Pfeiffer-in-ScarfaceĀ feel I like to call ‘rocktail’.Ā My favourite piece saw these magical paillettesĀ transformed into a red and black tiger striped shift dress (pictured).
Feeling like you need more sequins in their life?

While the slip-on sneaker isnāt new, itās never truly been embraced by the fashion pack⦠until now.
Not surprisingly, CĆ©line – the home of everything thatās cool and covetable these days, was the one to reintroduce this silhouette (pictured), and it’s been a stylish snowball of slip-on interpretations since then.
