    Spots and Spokes

    Tuesday 21st Jan 2014

With her charming, witty and often ironic use of print and colour, Karen Walker has built a loyal fan base over the years. You may recognise a couple of them: Anne Hathaway, Alexa Chung, Florence Welch, Zooey Deschanel and Rihanna to name just a few.

And what a well-fed group of devotees they are – In addition to her womens clothing lines she also designs sunglasses, jewellery, shoes, bags, childrenswear, homewares and even a paint line.

So it may come as no surprise that she’s now designed a bike.

This limited edition number is exclusive in Australia, and comes complete with her signature gold polka dots and a wicker basket (naturally).

    Fashion Math

    Tuesday 10th Dec 2013

Ok, I know what you’re thinking… $500 is a lot for a pair of sunglasses.

    But they’re so cute… and sparkly…

Now hear me out on this one – if you commit to wearing these every 3rd day for the next year (with tousled hair and a matt-red lip), they come in at $4.20 per wear (assuming you don’t lose/sit on them before then).

You can’t argue with the conscious easing, feel good-ness of fashion math, yes?

    Cats Eyes

    Tuesday 26th Nov 2013

I have an unintentional theme going on over here at INEZ Daily. If you haven’t noticed, kitties have been littered (pun intended) throughout a number of my recent posts.

There has been kitten heelsfeline curiosityleopard print bagscat clutches and a cameo appearance by Monte.

And now that I’m on a (furry) roll, let’s talk cats-eye sunglasses. There’s something about this shape that makes me feel all retro and starlet-y when I wear them.

Whilst I am quite taken with round-framed sunglasses of late, the cats-eye frame is a perennial favourite – I’m always of the lookout for a new version on this classic style.

Enter: Miu Miu – fashion’s home for the best retro-reinterpretations.

    Mix Master

    Monday 4th Nov 2013

Regular readers of INEZ Daily will know that I fully endorse whimsy – it’s my default style.

One of my favourite ways to achieve this is by layering an eclectic mix of patterns, textures and trims – think animal prints, lace, coloured fur, sequins and spots (but maybe not all at once).

Fashion Editor, Julia Sarr Jamois (pictured) is the master of this.

There’s just a couple of tricks to pulling this off without looking completely mad:

    1. Pick prints that have a common neutral base (like white or cream) and either the same or a complimentary colour palette (think pink & orange or purple & green).

    2. Include a couple of black accents with your trims or accessories to tie it all together

    3. And then, volia! Watch as all these pieces magically transform into one harmonious (albeit quite bold) outfit.
