Lately fashion peeps are obsessed with anything athletic.

This explains the cult following for new label, LPD New York. A small collection of hoodies, sweatshirts and tees, they take their styling cues from American football jerseys but instead of sporting teams they feature the names and birth years of fashions favourite designers on the back.

Celine’s Phoebe Philo was their first subject, but there are now so many more to choose from…

Fashion folk aren’t always so serious. We have our funny side.

Case in point: Brian Litchenberg’s parodic interpretation of high fashion. Using the revered symbols of iconic design houses, he’s then infused them with a little street style – a kind of cheeky tribute.

Fiona Kowalski is the warm, funny, super-stylish founder of children’s clothing label Printebebe (pronounced print baby) – an adorable collection printed smock dresses, blouses and bloomers.

Her career has seen her travel full-circle, starting out as a designer then moving into the role of fashion editor and stylist for many years in Hong Kong, New Zealand, London and Australia. It was the birth of her daughter Gidget (now 2) however, that inspired her move back into designing.

“I started Printebebe because I wanted to create affordable children’s clothing that was pretty and easy to wear. It has been fun, more hard work than I ever imagined, but so rewarding too”.
